Close menu Product information "LE TONKINOIS oil stain 250ml" This oil-based stain ensures an even, natural and deep coloration of the wood without blocking it. Ideal for boat building. Compensates for color differences that can arise from reworking such as beveling or sanding wood. Yacht Oil Stain is applied 1 to 3 times with a brush/surface brush with light intermediate sanding until the desired color tone is achieved. Shake thoroughly before use. After a short exposure time, spread excess oil evenly again with a brush. Drying time between applications approx. 8 hours. After complete drying (approx. 12 hours), the oil stain must be sealed with Le Tonkinois Marine No. 1 or Vernis 1 to 2 x to achieve complete surface protection. This is not absolutely necessary indoors. Application: For the basic and final treatment of untreated, heavily used wood indoors and outdoors, e.g. ship decks and superstructures, wooden floors, wooden table and kitchen tops, etc. Ready to use, do not dilute. Apply with a brush or flat brush. Do not apply at temperatures below 12°C. Stir well before use. Apply the oil stain generously and evenly. After a short exposure time, spread the excess stain again with a brush and wipe off in the direction of the grain and dab off the excess with a lint-free cloth. Ensure even application, especially with cork. It is generally recommended to create a stain test area. Tool cleaning: with Le Tonkinois thinner. Store tightly closed, dry, cool but frost-free. Consumption: Approx. 35 - 50 ml/m2 per coat depending on the surface condition and absorbency of the substrate, based on smooth and planed/sanded surfaces. Absorbent substrates may result in higher consumption values for the first coat. Drying time: At 20°C and medium humidity after 6 - 8 hours if possible, wait 12 hours before recoating. Low temperatures, high humidity and low air exchange delay drying and promote odor formation. Ensure good ventilation during application. Only load surfaces carefully at first. Surfaces can be walked on after 3 days with 2 - 3 coats. Substrate: Untreated wood, wood-based materials, conditionally also on cork. Sand rough wooden substrates carefully.
